Getting around in Boulder

Boulder is located in the Denver Metro area, just 30 miles from the city and 40 miles from Denver International Airport (DEN). There are a number of public transportation options available, making it easy to get around the area.

Uber and Lyft are plentiful in Boulder.
The most convenient and economical way to get around is the HOP bus operated by the City of Boulder.

HOP stops in front of the College of Music and also at the corner of Canyon and 28th Street. Embassy Suites by HIlton, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence by Marriott, Boulder Marriott and the 29th Street Mall are located at the corner of Canyon and 28th. There are two HOP routes, clockwise and counterclockwise. Both routes stop at the same stations. HOP fare can be paid via the RTD app, or by a day pass or ticket books.

Boulder B-cycle, a local bike share program, can be a fun and sustainable way to get around town while you’re visiting.

If you do bring a car to campus, your conference coordinator can help you with purchasing a temporary parking permit. CU Conference Services supports the university’s commitment to sustainability in many ways including providing sustainable transportation options to conference participants. We encourage participants to take advantage of our 300 days of sunshine and walk or bike around town between events. We do have a community bike share program (B-cycle), and conferences can pre-purchase rides for participants to get around.

Public transportation in Boulder is easy and efficient. CU Boulder’s central location connects it to many bus routes within Boulder and the region. Daily and weekly passes can be purchased online.
