Emily Foltz

Oboe

Emily Foltz is based in Lawrence, KS, and is an active freelance oboist in the KC metropolitan area. She currently serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Oboe at MidAmerica Nazarene University and also teaches lessons at Fort Hays State University. Emily earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Kansas in 2020, where she studied with Dr. Margaret Marco. Her other teachers include Barbara Bishop, Melissa Peña, and Adam Shapiro.
Emily has performed with a number of orchestras including the Eugene Symphony, the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, the St. Joseph Symphony, and the Hays Symphony. She can be heard playing English horn on the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble’s most recent CD, Freedom from Fear, and on an upcoming recording of the chamber works of Ecuadorian composer Luis Humberto Salgado, performing with the Kansas Virtuosi.
