Ciara Glasheen-Artem


Dr. Ciara Glasheen-Artem is Head of MTU Cork School of Music in Cork, Ireland. An active soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician, she has performed throughout Europe, the US, Central and South America, and Asia.

Ciara is principal oboe with Camerata Ireland and enjoys touring regularly with the orchestra. Highlights include New York’s Carnegie Hall, Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai India, Corpartes Center for the Arts in Santiago Chile and Royal Opera Versailles in Paris France.
Alongside her Head of School duties, Ciara lectures on the BMus programme at MTU Cork School of Music. From 2017-2021, she was Conservatoire Coordinator MTU Cork School of Music where she coordinated wind and percussion studies and managed recruitment strategy, external engagement, and student experience.

Ciara completed her DMA and MM degrees as a Fulbright student at the University of Colorado studying with Peter Cooper, James Brody and Jason Lichtenwalter.
